Steps on how to fix “Chrome OS is missing or damages” using Chrome OS recovery utility for HP Chromebook x360 14c
- When one cannot reboot the Chromebook (Model: HP Chromebook x360 14c), and the display shows error: “Chrome OS is missing or damages. Please remove all connected devices and start recovery. The Model DRAGONAIR-…” information is shown at the bottom of the screen.
- When you follow the instruction from the google support to create a chrome OS recovery utility. Make sure you type in model number “DRAGONAIR-“ in the textbox prompted for “enter the model number of the Chromebook to recover”, then it would display “Found a match” for you to continue. Do not use the “Select model from a list” link and rely on the provided manufactory and product list for searching, as it does not pick up correctly recovery image for you to save to your USB drive.
