Hi,

I'm trying to do a clean install of Windows 11 24H2 on a Pavilion 16-af0002na (A2SB9EA)

I need a storage driver for this, but I can't see anything storage-related (or RST-related) on the driver download page for this hardware and 24H2. If I 'expand all' and search for the word 'storage', I get no matches.

Hi:

I suggest that you post your question on the Intel support forum because I could not find any Intel storage controller drivers for the Core Ultra processor platforms.

They do not exist on any of HP's support pages--even for the business class notebooks that have those processors.

I couldn't help this forum member either:

I checked to see if your notebook's product number (A2SB9EA #ABU) is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool and it is currently not supported.

Thanks Paul - that's useful.

Post on Intel forum is here:-

I'll send any useful responses back over here.

You're very welcome, Matt.

I appreciate it, because I am stumped.

I tried in vain to find the driver on Intel's website.

Cheers,

Paul

Reporting back.

The bottom line is, with this hardware and 24H2 (December '24 update), the ISO image doesn't appear to work, but a USB stick created with the Windows Installation Media creator does.

I used an ancient Windows 10 machine to create the installation medium.

There's something very odd going on here. When the ISO is booted, it's possible to browse the C: drive from the driver loader window, so the problem isn't a missing storage driver for the NVMe drive.

I've got another network driver issue, but I'll raise a separate issue for that.

That's good news.  Thanks for letting me know.
