Hi! So this problem happened a while ago and I am now trying to fix it on my laptop as I need it for school. I had shut it down one night and the problem had occurred- there hadn't been any system updates that I can recall so I'm a bit stumped on how to fix it.

The computer alters between being stuck on an indefinite loop of a blue error screen with the Stop Code: Memory1 Initialization Failed and trying to automatically repair and then getting stuck on the HP logo page trying to automatically repair but the loading wheel is frozen. I have run a system diagnostics quick test (from looking at https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Stuck-in-preparing-automatic-Re...) and everything has passed so I'm not too sure what the issue is but the system also isn't restoring to what it should be. Any tips or suggestions on what to do is appreciated! Thanks for the help!

Hi:

Even though the memory test passed, you may still have an intermittently faulty memory chip.

If your notebook has two memory chips, I  suggest removing one and running the notebook off the remaining one.

If it still doesn't work, remove that chip and replace it with the first one you took out and see if the notebook works then.

Here is the link to the service manual...
