HP Notebook - 15-af151sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

First - apologies if this is the wrong forum - I wasn't sure which forum to post this query in.

Something strange happened with my Notebook. Normally the 'Function' keys work as volume, brightness etc just by pressing them, and if I want to use them as function keys I have to press fn+the key I want.

Inexplicably, pressing any of the function keys now operates them as a function key - so for example if I press F7 it no longer turns the volume down, it asks me about turning the Caret browsing on. Pressing F3 now brings up search rather than brightness.

as far as I know I didn't change anything. Does anybody have a solution?

Thank you

Is there a way I can speak to HP about this problem, and I don't mean the Virtual Agent, because I tried her and it was not helpful - I just went round in circles

@olitob

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Please update the BIOS and HP System Event Utility under Software-Solutions: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15-af100-notebook-pc-series/8543365/model/101358...

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
