Hello HP Community,

I recently received an e-mail from HP Support on some recent alerts for my laptop. One of the alerts was "HPSBHF03602 rev. 1 - Synaptics Touchpad Driver for Windows can Leak Freed Kernel Memory Pointers". I was told to download the specified driver for my model, which was:Screencap 1.png

After downloading and installing the driver, I had to restart my laptop and then realized that two-finger scrolling wasn't working anymore, neither was pinching to zoom in and out, or any of the other gestures. I checked the Device Manager and I have the correct driver installedScreencap 2.JPG

When I tried going to the touchpad settings and opened the Synaptics settings, all I saw was this:Screencap 3.JPG

I tried rolling back the driver and then downloading and installing the specified driver again, but still got the same problem. I would really appreciate any help regarding this issue and how to fix it.

Let's uninstall the touchpad drivers using the below steps.

1. Press Windows+X to open the menu, and choose Device Manager on it.

2. In the device manager, expand category "Mice and other pointing devices".

3. Under this category, right click on your Synaptics Touchpad driver and click on Uninstall.

4. You may be required to confirm the uninstallation. Check the box next to "Delete the driver software for this device" and click OK button.

5. Restart the computer.

Thank you. I uninstalled the driver like you suggested and restarted my laptop. After restarting, I was asked to restart again to install ELAN driver, and so I did. After that, the touchpad was working fine and I could use two-finger scrolling and zooming like before.

Thanks again for your help!
