Today an update for the Bios became available via the 'HP Support app'. But unfortunately I am having difficulties getting it to install.
The following screen shots document the error:
1) There is plenty of space on my drive. Not sure why this error is coming up.
Not Enough Space? Wrong.
After restarting and having the same problem, instead of trying to install it again for the 3rd time, I was able to save to the file to my hard drive. Note how small these files are. So, there is not a space issue with my machine.
This the specific information for the update.

Hi @TekatVerowe,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to encounter issues with updating your BIOS. From the screenshots and your description, it seems like the update process is encountering an unexpected error. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
Check for Compatibility: Ensure that the BIOS update you're trying to install is compatible with your specific model of HP Laptop PC 15s. Installing an incompatible BIOS update can cause serious issues.
Download from HP's Website: Instead of relying on the HP Support app, try downloading the BIOS update directly from HP's official website. Sometimes, the app might encounter errors or issues that aren't present when downloading manually.
Run as Administrator: If you haven't already, try running the HP Support app as an administrator. Right-click on the app icon and select "Run as administrator." This might help bypass any permission-related issues.
Disable Antivirus/Firewall: Sometimes, antivirus software or firewall settings can interfere with the update process. Temporarily disable any antivirus software or firewall settings and try installing the BIOS update again.
Check System Integrity: Use built-in Windows tools like System File Checker (SFC) and Deployment Imaging Service and Management Tool (DISM) to check and repair system integrity. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following commands:
sfc /scannow dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Remember to always proceed with caution when updating your BIOS, as a failed update can potentially render your device unusable.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden4,
Thanks so much for the in-depth reply.
However, after looking at in the same HP Support software for this same computer, I saw that the update-in-question is no longer listed in the list of available updates for this computer.
And after I clicked on the "check for updates" button, for a just a split-second, a small screen flashed up and then disappeared before I got a chance to really read it. All I could see is that it said something about that particular update not being available anymore for this computer. But again, it was so fast that I did not have a chance to read more than just a few words of the message, which alluded to that effect.
And when I looked at the list of updates that were available, there were about 4 of them, and none of them had anything to do with the BIOS. They were all hardware drivers. And all of them updated fine.
Thanks again. Sorry to have taken so long to get back to you, this is the first time I have had the time to work on any computer hardware issues at all until today.
P.S.: I have been working with your computers and printers at various places I worked since back in the 90's! And my current HP computer is at least the sixth one I owned for personal business use.
