Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

at startup I get the message:

'The followng product information programmed into system board is missing or invalid-
System board (00A) System Board CT Number"

but only when my laptop is connected to the power line. No error when powered on only with battery.

If I try to push "Esc" and then "F1" the CT is showed normally.

If I use my laptop without power-cord it works very faster than with the cable inserted. But when I connect the cable, Windows' power manager tells "not recharging". To recharge batteries I must switch off.

I've read some discussions of users with similar problems, but I cannot find a solution.

What can I do?

My laptop is a 15-AC163NL (P5N62EA#ABZ) bought on december 2015.

Thanks

Giuseppe

Welcome to the HP Support Community

Let's boot the BIOS and check if the BIOS has the serial number and the product number.

Follow the below steps to boot into BIOS page.

1. Turn on or restart the computer.

2. While the display is blank, press the f10 key to enter the BIOS settings menu.

This could be a hardware issue if you do not find the serial number and the product number on the BIOS page.

Keep me posted.

Have a great day!

Cheers:)

Hello Raj1788,

thanks for your reply.

The serial number and the product number are present on the BIOS page. Otherwise at the System Board ID voice there is only "HP".

Thanks Raj1788 for your reply.

I try what You suggest, but I cannot find any telephone numbers to contact HP in Italy where I live.

Near my home (Pisa, Italy) I can find only HP resellers. No HP Support near me. 😞

So I need another way to resolve my problems.

Thanks in advance

Have good days
