HP 255 G7 Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've just reinstalled my laptop with Win 10 and everything has installed but this "System Firmware".

It says:

This device cannot start (code 10)

Indicates a revision number encountered or specified is not one known by the service..."

BIOS is UEFI F.38

Hi:

I had the same issue with my 255 G7.

What I had to do was to right click on the system firmware device and select roll back driver.

If that does not work for you, right click on the device, select uninstall, restart the PC and see if W10 installs the device correctly.

The error showed up in mine after Windows did an automatic update to the system firmware device.

You can run the Hide Windows update utility that I zipped up and attached below to prevent that update from installing again.
