Hi, I've run a system Quick Test as my laptop was stuck in the preparing automatic repair loop, and it has come back saying the hard drive short DST check: failed.
It's given a ID of: PLG9A2-943AN7-MFPUQK-60W903
and product ID of: 2CN73EA#ABU
Unfortunately the QR code on the next screen won't open on my phone - which is probably my phone's fault - could anyone advise what action I should take next?

Hi:
Below is the failure report generated by the code you posted, minus your PC's serial number.
PLG9A2-943AN7-MFPUQK-60W903 | OK | 0000000000 | 7/18/21 | 303 | Storage | Floppy Drive, Hard Drive, Memory Drive, Optical Drive, SCSI, Tape Drive | Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure |
You will need to install a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system.
Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.
HP 14 Laptop PC (Intel)HP 14g Laptop PCHP 14q Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide
You may want to consider replacing the 500 GB mechanical hard drive with a better performing 500GB solid state drive (SSD).
This SSD provides the best performance for the price, in my opinion.
After you replace the drive, use another Windows PC running W7 64 bit or newer to create bootable USB recovery media with the HP cloud recovery tool, which will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
Here is an info link for how to use that utility...
