Hi @Justdivvy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop is stuck on a BIOS update screen for several hours, it's a concerning situation. Here's what you can try.

  • Wait a bit longer: Sometimes, updates can take a considerable amount of time, especially BIOS updates. Give it some more time to see if it progresses.
  • Hard Reset: If waiting doesn't work, perform a hard reset by pressing and holding the power button until the laptop shuts down completely. Then, wait a few seconds and turn it back on.
  • Enter BIOS recovery mode: Most HP laptops have a BIOS recovery feature. Usually, you can access it by pressing a specific key combination during boot, often involving holding down the Windows key and the "B" key simultaneously while powering on the laptop. Check your laptop's manual or HP's support website for the correct key combination for your specific model.

Remember that interrupting a BIOS update process can potentially cause serious issues with your laptop's hardware, so proceed with caution

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
