My computer/laptop is restarting with the screen attached with this message. What should I do? It is running on 25H2 Windows 11. I h ave updated all the drivers manually.

Your system is experiencing a stop code crash (commonly called a BSOD), even after updating drivers manually. This usually points to a deeper issue with hardware, system files, or a driver conflict introduced by the 25H2 update. 

 

Let’s walk through how to stabilize your system.

 

1. Identify the Stop Code

The screen you shared references windows.com/stopcode, but doesn’t show the actual error name (e.g., IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT). To find it:

  • Go to Settings > System > About > Advanced system settings > Startup and Recovery
  • Under System failure, check Write debugging information: Automatic memory dump
  • After the next crash, open Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System and look for the stop code

 

2. Run System File Checker and DISM

Corrupted system files can trigger crashes even with updated drivers.

Steps:

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator
  2. Run: sfc /scannow
  3. After it completes, run:
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Restart your system after both scans.

 

3. Check for Incompatible Drivers

Even manually updated drivers can conflict with 25H2.

  • Open Device Manager
  • Look for any devices with yellow warning icons
  • Right-click and choose Uninstall device, then restart
  • If you suspect a specific driver (e.g., graphics or storage), roll back to a previous version

 

4. Disable Fast Startup

Fast Startup can cause instability after major updates.

Steps:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do
  2. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable
  3. Uncheck Turn on fast startup
  4. Save and restart

 

5. Perform a Clean Boot

This isolates third-party software conflicts.

Steps:

  1. Press Windows + R, type msconfig, press Enter
  2. Go to Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all
  3. Go to Startup tab > Open Task Manager, disable all startup items
  4. Restart your system

If the crash stops, re-enable services one by one to find the culprit.

Hi,

Thanks for the detailed information. I have already given the laptop to an HP service centre. If the problem persists I will try your methods, but the problem is that the HP website still hasn't uploaded any driver for the 25H2 version of Windows 11. But thanks a lot for your help. I will let you know once I get back my laptop.
