Hi,

Please tap away F2 key as you power on laptop. Do extensive hard drive and memory tests. Let it finish.

Do have HP Recovery USB/discs created after first setup of this notebook?

Have you backed up all your files?

Have you done the tests?

What is the full model name, product number of your laptop?

You can order recovery USB from HP directly. I'm not sure if they're stocking it for your old model still.

Mostly HP wouldn't be stocking recovery discs for this old model

Try third party stores like computersurgeons.com or restoredisks.com

You can alternatively try clean install of Windows 10 if you've successfully upgraded and activated it previously.

So what are the hard drive test results ?

Thank you for all of your information. I really don't know how to check anything to do with hard drives. I can't seem to get past the log-in to windows. I can log-in using system manager and then no further. I will try to locate a recovery disc for sure as well as try to figure out how to check the hard drives.
