Thank you so much, HP. Thanks to you, you’ve stolen my life.
I tried to get help from live support, but I was met with racism.
They told me they don’t provide support outside of EMEA countries — even though Turkey is in EMEA.
Despite begging for help multiple times, you refused to assist me.
I really wish I had never bought an HP computer so I wouldn’t have to rely on you.

My problem is sudden GHz fluctuation.
My CPU can potentially reach 4GHz.
While it usually runs around 3.7GHz, when I try to run a benchmark, play a game, open a new tab, or even when idle, it suddenly drops by 0.4GHz and becomes unusable.

It’s not because of temperature — it happens even when idle.
The temperature stays around 50°C when idle and 65°C during gaming.

It’s not a power plan issue either — I’ve tried everything, including Ultimate Performance mode.

My CPU’s PPT limit is 30W, and my charger provides 45W.

I have no idea what’s causing it, but I’ve had enough.
I recorded a video about it — you can see the drops there, and I’ve attached a screenshot showing the GHz change within 10 seconds.

@qplay, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP device.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

If your CPU frequency is dropping unexpectedly, here are some steps you can take to address this issue:

  1. Thermal Throttling:

    • Check if your CPU is throttling due to heat. Ensure that your laptop's vents are clean and unobstructed. Clean them with compressed air if needed.
    • Make sure your laptop is placed on a hard, flat surface to promote proper airflow.
  2. Power Management Settings:

    • Adjust your power management settings in Windows:
      • Go to Control Panel > Power Options and select a high-performance power plan.
      • Customize the power plan to ensure the processor frequency does not drop under load by adjusting the Minimum Processor State setting.
  3. BIOS Update and Settings:

    • Ensure that your BIOS is up to date with the latest version available for your HP ZBook Fury 15 G7. Check the HP Software and Driver Downloads page for updates.
    • Review BIOS settings to ensure performance options are correctly configured.
  4. Background Applications:

    • Use Task Manager to identify any background applications that may be consuming resources and close unnecessary applications.
  5. HP Performance Tools:

    • Utilize tools like HP Performance Advisor to monitor and optimize system performance.
    • Ensure HP Command Center settings are optimized for your needs.
  6. Thermal Management Tools:

    • On select HP laptops, you can use tools such as HP CoolSense or HP Command Center to better manage thermal profiles and potentially prevent frequency drops due to overheating.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!

Please watch the video I published. Does it normally take a month for a ticket to be answered?
