Hi @Ratnadeep331
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've updated your BIOS, enabled TPM, but Windows still isn't detecting TPM, here are a few steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Double-Check TPM Settings in BIOS
Since you've enabled TPM in your BIOS, it's a good idea to revisit your BIOS settings to ensure everything is correctly set:
- Restart your computer and enter the BIOS (Usually, you can do this by pressing F10 or Esc during startup, but it may vary depending on your model).
- Once in the BIOS, look for the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) or Security settings.
- Make sure TPM or Intel PTT (Platform Trust Technology) is enabled.
- If the option is already enabled, try disabling and re-enabling it to reset the setting.
- Save the changes and exit BIOS.
2. Check Windows TPM Settings
After ensuring TPM is enabled in BIOS, check if Windows recognizes it.
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type tpm.msc and hit Enter.
- If TPM is enabled, the TPM Management on Local Computer window should appear.
- Check under the Status section; it should say The TPM is ready for use.
- If it says something like "Compatible TPM cannot be found," Windows isn't detecting TPM properly.
3. Check Device Manager
Sometimes TPM can be detected in Device Manager but is not enabled in Windows:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Scroll down to Security Devices and expand it.
- Look for Trusted Platform Module or TPM 2.0.
- If you see the TPM device listed but it has an issue (yellow warning icon), right-click it and select Update driver to ensure it has the correct driver.
- You can also choose Uninstall device and then reboot your PC to allow Windows to reinstall the driver.
4. Ensure TPM Is Enabled in Windows Features (Windows 10/11)
Sometimes Windows requires TPM to be turned on in the operating system:
- Open the Control Panel and go to Programs > Turn Windows features on or off.
- Check if TPM or Windows Security options are enabled.
5. Update Windows
- Ensure your Windows is fully updated, as Windows updates may include critical fixes for TPM detection.
- Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update → Check for updates.
6. Check Compatibility
- Make sure your processor and motherboard support TPM 2.0. Most recent processors (Intel 8th Gen and later, and newer AMD Ryzen chips) support TPM 2.0, but older hardware might only support TPM 1.2 or none at all.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
