Hello i have been trying to enable tpm 2.0 in my bios settings, but it says its already available , but it says on my computer incompatibility pop-up, i wonder if there is any other way to enable this tpm to 2.0, because my computer needs it, for a video game, i really tried to research and look for videos, but they show the method i already have tried, and its weird because its already enabled in the BIOS settings, but still wont work and still does not detect it, i hope anyone can help me with this

Hi @rosemayank,

Thanks for the update and for sharing your model. Let’s go through a few checks to understand why TPM 2.0 is enabled in BIOS but still shows as incompatible in Windows.

I understand your HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2xxx shows TPM enabled in BIOS, but Windows or your game still reports incompatibility. Let’s try a few steps to verify TPM status and refresh Windows’ detection.

Confirm the correct TPM option is enabled in BIOS
– Restart the laptop and tap F10 to enter BIOS.
– Go to Security → TPM Device.
– Make sure it shows “TPM Device: Available” and “TPM State: Enabled.”
– If you see “fTPM” or “Firmware TPM,” ensure this is turned ON.

Clear TPM from BIOS (safe reset)
– In the same TPM menu, select “Clear TPM.”
– Save and exit BIOS.
– Windows will reinitialize TPM on the next boot.
– Note: This does not erase personal files but may require you to sign in again to apps like Microsoft/Outlook.

Check TPM status inside Windows
– Press Windows + R → type tpm.msc → press Enter.
– Confirm it says “The TPM is ready for use.”
– Verify “Specification Version” is 2.0.
– If the console shows “Compatible TPM not found,” Windows is not reading the firmware TPM correctly.

Enable device security features in Windows
– Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Security → Device Security.
– If “Security Processor” is missing, click “Core Isolation” and turn on “Memory Integrity” if available.
– Restart and check again.

Install the latest BIOS update for your model
– Visit HP Software & Drivers → enter HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2xxx.
– Install the latest BIOS/firmware update under “Firmware.”
– This can fix TPM detection issues.

Check if Windows is running in Legacy mode
– Press Windows + R → type msinfo32 → Enter.
– Look for “BIOS Mode.”
– It must say UEFI.
– If it says Legacy, TPM will not work properly.

I hope this helps.

I have done all of this and still when i am checking the status it says compatible TPM not  found !!! and also in device manager under the security tab only "AMD PSP DRIVER IS SHOWING " not TPM 2.0 but when i forcefully install it it shows under the hidden files and if click on tpm 2.0 properties it says this device works properly!!

Hi,

Thanks for the detailed update! I understand your HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2xxx shows TPM enabled in BIOS, but Windows still reports “Compatible TPM not found”, and only the AMD PSP Driver appears under Device Manager. I can see why this is confusing, especially since forcing the TPM 2.0 driver shows it “works properly” in properties. Let’s try a few additional steps to get Windows to correctly detect the TPM:

1. Verify fTPM / PSP settings in BIOS

Restart and enter BIOS (F10).

Navigate to Security → TPM Device.

Confirm “TPM Device: Available” and “TPM State: Enabled.”

For AMD systems, this is often called fTPM or Firmware TPM. Make sure it’s Enabled.

Save changes and reboot.

2. Clear TPM properly from BIOS

In the TPM menu, select Clear TPM / Reset TPM.

Save and exit BIOS.

Windows will prompt you to set up TPM again on next boot.

3. Remove any conflicting TPM drivers

Open Device Manager → View → Show Hidden Devices.

Under Security Devices, uninstall any TPM entries that appear with warning symbols.

Restart the PC. Windows should automatically detect and reinstall the TPM driver correctly.

4. Enable AMD PSP / fTPM in Windows

Press Windows + R, type tpm.msc → Enter.

If it still says “Compatible TPM not found,” try:

Windows Update → Optional Updates → Check for AMD fTPM / PSP updates.

This can refresh Windows’ detection of the firmware TPM.

5. Ensure UEFI mode is active

Press Windows + R, type msinfo32 → Enter.

Confirm BIOS Mode = UEFI.

TPM 2.0 only works properly in UEFI mode. If your system is in Legacy mode, TPM won’t be detected.

I hope this helps.
