My taskbar is set to automatically hide. But earlier this week, it started not being accessible by hovering my mouse when a window is in full-screen view. Is this possibly a software or system issue? And any possible fixes for this issue?

@RC-EBI, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Taskbar Accessibility Issue in Full-Screen View!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It is likely a software or system issue if your taskbar is set to automatically hide but does not appear when you hover your mouse in full-screen view. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix this issue:

Steps to Fix Taskbar Accessibility Issue

Check Taskbar Settings:

  • Right-click on the taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
  • Make sure the Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode is enabled.
  • Toggle the setting off and then back on to reset it.

Restart Windows Explorer:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.
  • Find Windows Explorer in the list.
  • Right-click on Windows Explorer and select Restart.

Update Windows:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Check for updates and install any pending updates.

Check for Driver Updates:

  • Open Device Manager by typing it in the taskbar search box.
  • Update drivers for display adapters and input devices.

Scan for Malware:

  • Run a full system scan using your antivirus software to rule out malware or viruses.

Modify Registry Settings (Advanced):

  • Press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
  • Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects3
  • Backup the registry and then modify the settings related to the taskbar.

Restart the Computer:

  • A simple restart can sometimes resolve the issue.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
