HP Notebook 15-dy1043dx

The HP Support Assistant is notifying that I have a HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel Processor. But supposedly it already did the update and the notice will not go away. The update did take place when the VPN was on. So, there may have been some confusion.

Welcome to the HP English Community --

You did not mention your Operating System / version.

That said, the Driver / Software updates listed for this system are (mostly) older drivers and software for Windows 10.

The most recent BIOS installation notes indicate this BIOS could be installed in Windows 11:

HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel Processors)

and

Download release notes

Did the BIOS install?

Check System Information on your computer

Under System Summary (the first section), right column, Check "BIOS Version / Date"

What else?

HP Support Assistant generally works --

  • There have been occasions when the HPSA makes a mistake about which BIOS should be installed (which the computer would normally refuse and not install).  The cure:  Do not use the HPSA to install BIOS updates.
  • HPSA might get "stuck on a theme", that is, something that should and did install, does not "register" as installed by HPSA

If the BIOS you want is installed and you wish to bypass constant reminders by HPSA,

Try / Consider

  • Uninstall the HP Support Assistant app - Windows 11 - Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > find "HP Support Assistant" > Click the "..." menu on the right side > Uninstall
  • Note that you can instead uninstall the HP Support Assistant from within the Windows Start menu

Next

  • Restart your computer and log in
  • Get and install a new latest-version copy of the HP Support Assistant

Older system --

If you wish to manage your Software updates without the HPSA,

Open the HP Support Assistant > Settings (Gear) > Switch OFF "Software Updates Settings"
