Hello! If you do not run OGHub, then the laptop is constantly making noise with coolers, keeping them at high speeds. But as soon as I start OGHub, for the first 5-10 seconds it loads the temperature, sees that it is low and abruptly turns off the coolers and reconfigures them to a normal way. Why are the coolers noisy before launching OGHub and how to fix it?

Hi @4L5Q5EA,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems that your OMEN 15.6-inch Gaming Laptop PC's fans are running at high speeds because the system's cooling management is being handled by the OMEN Gaming Hub (OGHub). Without OGHub running, the system defaults to a high-speed fan mode, possibly because it doesn't have access to the necessary temperature data or fan control settings.
Here's what might be happening:
- Default Fan Profile: Without OGHub, the laptop may not have an optimized fan profile to adjust speeds based on temperature, leading to fans running constantly at high speed to prevent overheating.
- Missing Fan Control Software: OGHub likely includes the fan control profiles that balance cooling with noise levels. Without it, the fans may not be able to adjust based on actual temperature readings.
- BIOS/Driver Settings: The BIOS or hardware configuration might also be set to default to high-speed fan operation when it doesn't detect temperature values.
To fix this:
Update BIOS and Drivers:
- Ensure your BIOS and system drivers are up to date, as manufacturers occasionally release updates to fix fan control issues.
- Visit HP's support website and search for your laptop model to download the latest BIOS and system drivers.
Enable Fan Control in BIOS (if available):
- Some systems allow you to set fan behavior in the BIOS. You might find an option to change the fan profile or set it to "Auto" instead of "Maximum" or "Performance."
- To access the BIOS, restart your laptop and press F10 (or another key depending on your model) during boot-up to enter the BIOS setup.
Reinstall or Reconfigure OMEN Gaming Hub:
- If OGHub is not running properly or has been uninstalled, reinstall it from the official OMEN site or Windows Store.
- Once installed, configure the fan settings within OGHub to ensure it runs properly when you need it.
Check for Third-Party Software Conflicts:
- If you have other software installed that could affect fan speeds (like hardware monitoring tools), try disabling or uninstalling them to see if it resolves the issue.
Adjust Power Settings:
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options and select the "Balanced" or "Power Saver" plan instead of "High Performance," which can help reduce the strain on your system and lower fan speeds when cooling is not needed.
By following these steps, you should be able to prevent the fans from running at high speeds unnecessarily before launching the OMEN Gaming Hub.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
