Hello!

What type of updated HP wanted to make to their Hp laptop users.

I brought hp laptop 255 g8 notebook 4months suddenly the 28th October 2023 i got the New BIOS update in my laptop & after some 4000 files updated & after that this Blue screen showing TPM data asking to select Y and N.

I gave N but it start normal & after shutdown same problem.

If i gave Y then showing clear TPM message on screen but no its not taking further steps.

I visited the HP authorized service center here in my area they are saying that your laptop motherboard has locked & we are replacing the new motherboard OMG what is the with just 4months & new BIOS update Hp motherboard Gone?? They are saying we are replacing with new motherboard But I dont know what type of motherboard either its original and it will work good futher i dont know.

Hp this is one of the worst update & i as a customer very dissapointed.

The response from the service center is complete nonsense. If the TPM query appears after starting the laptop, press the Y key or if you have a QWERTZ keyboard layout, press the Z key, then the F1 key.

What should i do now?

I have shared them your solution screenshot on their whatsapp informed them to use this for laptop & they are saying that we have tried everything & our technical guy not got any solution.

I spoke with them on call for 10 minutes & they are saying that we have shown your laptop to our senior manager he said that we need to change the motherboard & its locked i asked why what it the other option what is the need of replacing the motherboard its new laptop just 4 months ago i bought.

They are clearly saying sir your motherboard has locked & we need to change the motherboard.

The suggested solution I shared with you has already helped many users with the same problem. Check out the following discussion :

Nobody had to replace the motherboard to solve the problem. Why don't you try the solution shared???

Okay will try the same process for the solution which you have shared.

May I know you from ? Can you please send me your contact number.

I'm just a personal computer user. I got the solution from HP's German telephone support. I don't know the technical background for the TPM error that occurred.

Okay got it.

You are saying you got the solution from German Telephone Support - it's worked successfully and solved the TPM Data Error.

Hi everyone. I am a multi brand laptop store owner. The simple solution for this error is you only have to press Y on the screen to clear the tpm after that press F1 or fn+F1 key to proceed with that setting. after this restart your laptop and there you go. Your problem is solved.

Thank you so much, that worked indeed!

I typed in a "Z" on my German keyboard and the message disappeared!
