Hello,
Started a new question after a previous thread was resolved regarding installing an upgraded 2TB Crucial brand NVME M2 SSD into my HP Spectre x 360 - 15bl012dx laptop.
So, I have a blank 2TB SSD with no OS installed that needs Windows 10 installed.
I created a 32gb USB flash drive HP recovery tool. I backed up all my data from my old 1TB SSD1 onto an external 2TB HD.
I disconnected external components other than USB flash drive and power. I turned on the computer, Escape key. Ran the boot from the USB. Followed steps to perform the factory reset.
After an hour or so a message appears:
The Recovery Attempt Has Failed. Select one of the following buttons: SAVE LOG, DETAILS, RETRY.
I managed to save the error log onto an external drive after I connected it at that point.
I selected RETRY but it reverted back to same Recovery Attempt Has Failed again.
I have searched for answers but it seems I may need to download a bootable Win10 flash drive from another computer to try instead on my HP laptop? Or can I boot it internally?
Please help!
I ran a diagnostic (F2 on startup) as well on newly installed SSD to make sure that it works properly and it passed.
I have pasted the log below and highlighted the several errors messages I came across:

Sorry, that changing the born-on date didn't work.
The Windows product key is encrypted in your notebook's BIOS.
You don't need it to reinstall Windows.
All those partitions were created by the cloud recovery tool media and are of no value since the recovery attempt failed.
So...the first thing to do is to select 'Custom Install.'
Then on the second screenshot with all of those partitions, delete every one of them until you have one big partition of unallocated space. To do that, just move to each partition and click on that red 'X' delete icon at the bottom,
Click, Next and W10 will create whatever partitions it needs to install.

Hi:
I see several entries regarding McAfee.
See if this works...go into the BIOS and set the date and time to the PC's 'Born on' date and see if you can run the recovery successfully.
Why?...for some reason the McAfee 30-day trial software expiration date interferes with the recovery process, since the current date and time are well beyond 30 days from the PC's born on date.
If that doesn't work, you will have to clean install W10 by making a bootable USB installer with the media creation tool from the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried the BIOS suggestion and changed date and time to born on date, but alas it did not resolve and the same message 'recovery attempt has failed'.
I created a WIN10 bootable USB installer. I am currently trying to work what to choose in custom install option.
It asks "where do you want to install Windows?"
There are 6 partitions displayed. Partition 3 is the only one that does not come up with a warning message that Windows cannot be installed.
I have read online from Microsoft support threads that they recommend deleting all partitions until there is one unallocated space.
This thread from Microsoft support, that I copied and pasted states, "If you're trying to do the gold standard Clean Install then what makes it clean is to delete all partitions off the Windows drive first, then choose the resulting Unallocated Space and click Next to auto-create and -format the needed partitions and begin - this makes it foolproof."
My concern is the product key 🔑. I don't have it and am worried about it deleting somehow. When I select a partition and click Delete, a message appears,
"This partition might contain important files or applications from your computer manufacturer. If you delete this partition, any data stored on it will be lost".
I want to make sure what HP systems require before I proceed. I understand the product key is stored in the BIOS but am still uncertain if deleting the partitions will affect this at all.
Assistance again would be greatly appreciated 🙏
Regards.
