I am original owner. I  installed my usual BIOS password a couple of years ago but didn't do anything else to the BIOS. Now I need to see the BIOS and the password doesn't work, to my annoyance. After every 3 attemps I get a different code- the last was A [E664333C]. I see that some people have been treated to unlock codes produced by a secret means. I hope I may be as lucky! Thanks

Hi, @wtjs

We were never able to generate unlock codes for hexidecimal system disabled codes such as your notebook generated.

Furthermore, the new forum rules revised on March 1, 2019, prohibit us from providing any assistance with clearing BIOS passwords.

Please see the rules of participation at the link below, 4d.

 d. No posts shall include instructions or directions intended to bypass or subvert security measures, including passwords, locking mechanisms, fingerprint scans, etc., or to bypass any safety measures.

If HP can't/won't help you, then you will need a new motherboard without a BIOS P/W to resolve the problem.
