Thanks vanBramselaar, good find! Funny to see that gaming with the built-in gpu instead of the dedicated one, the user might get better gaming performance. I say funny, but i mean ridiculous 🙂

It could be the dedicated GPU only, but it also throttles the CPU. Below is a picture of the interior of our laptop; as you can see the CPU and GPu are on the same heatpipe leading to the exhaust. Maybe there is another temperature sensor that senses the temp of the heatpipe, and throttles accordingly?

I have the same problem :indifferent:

Are there any solutions right now?

Same story here, with a Pavilion 15 CK    (i7 8550u + MX150 + 8 RAM) it throttles all the time when playing Overwatch, while other laptops with these specs play it easy....

HP  HELP us please !

Guys i just happen to find a problem fix... If u UNplug the AC adapter it doesnt throtttle....

So on battery Overwatch runs smooth.. when i charge the laptop it starts to throttle...

Kinda weird but it might influence the temperature of the laptop internals ?

Since i bought this laptop for its specs im not sure if im keeping it now.. It also seem to coil whine or something.

It seems they deliver this laptop with a 65watt adapter but the specification page on the website says it comes with a 90watt adapter..

Maybe this causes the problem, being underpowered by the adapter for the CPU and GPU !?

The latest BIOS update fixed the problem!!!! :Surprise:

You sure the latest BIOS has fixed it?

On the support page, it only mentions something about improved UEFI-code.

Not for me. But i sent it back and bought a macbook pro. Problem solved.

Why ? Cuz it simply works without these kinds of bullshjits.

Yeah. 50% more expensive, and have fun 'gaming' on it! 🙂

True, but gaming on a laptop which should do the trick but doesnt cuz it fails is just as bad for 'gaming'.
