I recently bought a used hp laptop, this is my first time owning an hp laptop. While scanning through the laptop I noticed it has a Toshiba hard disk drive, I would like to know if the hard disk drive of the laptop has been changed because it is a used one or that is how it came from hp manufacturers. because I would like to return it back from where I bought it because I don't know if there is going to be an issue in my later use.

looking forward to your answer's, thanks.

Hi:

HP does not manufacture any components that go into your notebook.

The hard drives can be supplied by several hard drive manufacturers...Hitachi, Western Digital, Seagate, Samsung, Toshiba.

It depends on what drives they have on hand at the factory when your notebook was assembled as to what model drive your notebook gets.

The same goes for the memory.  It could be from several different manufacturers.

okay thank you very much for your response, I would like to ask something else, my c drive doesn't have the windows icon next to the drive logo. what does that mean and is it going to be a problem.

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't know what that means or if it will be an issue.

I doubt it since the PC is working.

I checked my Dell Optiplex 7050 MT PC and mine has the windows icon next to the C:\ drive.

I think all that does is to inform you what drive Windows is installed on when you have multiple drives installed.
