After 2years I'm posting about my lack of control of my devices. Recently I purchased my first new PC. Within 2 days I had seen the symptoms and signs, like I had in every other device. My question is for those who know exactly what I'm talking about but do nothing to help. Why? Why stay silent as people lose everything because of a need for others to break the law? Aren't we all responsible for the safety of the internet?
My PC crashed and I received a callback rom HP support. We created a recovery drive. I followed directions and it didn't work which made the rep question if I did what he said. I hung up and then tried again the next day. After a few attempts it's up and running. But now it's more blatant than before. The guts that people have to do this but then to do it right in front of my face. Knowing that I don't know much about computers where I can even fight back. I can't afford to take it somewhere. I've already taken it somewhere once before and they charge me money that I can't even couldn't afford then. So now I have a brand new 1100 computer that I can't even really use because I can't get on the internet and do real things on the internet. I can't have real email. All of my stuff is sandboxed. I'm stuck in a sandbox I can't get out of my browser is tainted I file history's tainted there's remote access that I didn't give to anybody because I know windows 11. First of all, well it says Windows 11 but then it says Windows 10. Then it says Windows 7.1 and Windows 8. So I never know what the heck I'm running. I need some help with this and no one that I've spoken to thus far in 2 years has been able to rid my devices of this. And now it's even into my internet service. My router my backup computer. My cell phone TV you name it if it's electronic and it's got a internet address to it. It's it's sick. And the people on the other side are doing. It don't even care. I've become almost unable to function at all because now I'm trying to figure out why me and how is this happening to me. I can't tell you the the lack of security that I feel in my life today. If you know somebody who's dealing with an issue like this, please help them do the right thing. Speak up for somebody else. Someone please help me. Thanks

Hi @surfingpainter5,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP ENVY x360 14-inch 2-in-1 laptop. It can be frustrating when you lose control of your PC. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to regain control.
- Restart your laptop: Press and hold the power button until the laptop turns off completely. Then, press the power button again to turn it back on. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary issues.
- Check for hardware issues: Ensure that all cables and connections are secure and properly plugged in. If you're using an external mouse or keyboard, try disconnecting them and using the laptop's built-in touchpad and keyboard.
- Update drivers and software: Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause control issues. Visit the HP support website (support.hp.com) and search for your laptop model to find the latest driver and software updates. Install any available updates and restart your laptop.
- Run a malware scan: Malicious software can sometimes interfere with system control. Use an antivirus program to scan your laptop for any malware or viruses. If any threats are detected, follow the recommended steps to remove them.
- Check for system errors: Windows has a built-in tool called Event Viewer that can help identify system errors. Press the Windows key + R, type "eventvwr.msc" (without quotes), and press Enter. Look for any critical or error events that may provide insight into the issue.
- Perform a system restore: If the problem started recently, you can try restoring your laptop to a previous point when it was working correctly. Press the Windows key + R, type "rstrui.exe" (without quotes), and press Enter. Follow the on-screen instructions to choose a restore point and restore your laptop.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
