I got this new laptop and decided I hated Windows 11, so I decided to install a distro of Linux. I tried to install yhe newest version of Linux Vanilla OS. That process kept failing at the end of the installation process. I then decided to try installing Mint 22.
I have a flashed USB. I set the BIOS to boot from the USB. It boots to the USB, a bunch of text flashes by and the error message comes up.
"Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists possible device or file completions."
I have installed other distros of Linux before in the past and I have never seen this error message before. I web searched and all relevant threads only pertain to Mint already being installed.
I then tried to reinstall Windows 11 from a flashed USB drive and that failed too. Now I have a HP laptop with no OS. Good times.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try using the HP cloud recovery tool that will create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support
You can download the software from the Microsoft store:
HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store
Since you have to use the tool on another PC, you will have to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window to create the recovery media.
The 9WQ76AV product number covers a huge number of individual models in the series as you can see from the list at the link below.
If you don't know what your notebook's individual product number is, enter the serial number in the search window at the link below and it should provide the specific product number of your notebook.
Then you need to add #ABA after the product number you see.
For example: 4P8N1UA#ABA
