I have chatted this fault through online and now want to arrange a pick up for return /repair. 

Who /how do I make contact??

You have to go back online to make those arrangements -- as we have no interface with HP Service functions, including the maintenance of support tickets.

Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate that this forum has no interface with HP Support and I am not surprised as they do seem to hide themselves away very effectively - however frustrating this is to mere users. 

My quest on this forum was for direction, and in that respect just a pointer would have been acceptable to avoid the previous 4 hours diagnosis and 2 hours looking for follow-up. 

Overall, I understand that HP are more interested in shifting kit rather than acknowledging or addressing problems / faults that the customer may encounter and therefore do not allow making contact an easy process. 

(FYI, mine is a second battery related fault; first one expanded to break the keyboard case, second one - in the forced replacement laptop - won't calibrate.)   

Once again, thank you for your reply.  I shall - perhaps - limit my queries on this forum to soft problems.
