I would like to create Recovery Media, but my HP Recovery Manager is frozen. I have tried several times and even waited that the software is updated so that I can try again, but absolutely no luck.

I am so afraid that my harddrive is going to crash and then I won't be able to install a new harddrive and do a recovery.

Please help. HP Recovery Manager Frozen.jpg

The installation of the update made no difference however, there was a background process/program that was holding the Recovery Manager from continuing. There were 3 programs running under the Recovery Manager program (including the Recovery Manager itself) and I cancelled the one program I can't recall what the name of it was, but as soon as when I did that, the program continued smoothly and I was able to create my recovery media.

Have you tried accessing the HP Recoverty Manager from  startup with an F11 keystroke immediately after powering the notebook?

I am trying to create Recovery Media. I am not trying to restore my pc.

You can access the Recovery media creation from the HP Recovery manager.

Recovering a notebook's OS is not the only thing that the HP Recovery Manager can do.

You can reinstall drivers and create recovery media ( one time only) with it as well.

I know that. My screenshot shows that my Recovery Manager is frozen and that is my problem. I want to create Recovery Media using the HP recovery manager but I am unable to do so because it is frozen! How can I get the software to respond.

Is your notebook not responding when you access the HP Recovery Manager from an F11 key or does it also happen when you are logged in and doing other things as well?

How close to the maximum storage capacity is your hard drive?

Did you store files in the recovery partition?

HI,

When I press F11 while pc is booting up, it only gives me option to restore which is NOT what I want to do.

I want to create Recovery Media so that I can later perform a restore should my pc crash.

I am far from reaching maximum storage capacity and nothing is stored on the recovery partion.

The Recovery Manager Software is not responding/frozen and that is my issue as I can't get to the point where I can tell it to create the Recovery Media.

Is your notebook still in warranty?

The free factory warranty is for one year.

It is still under factory warranty. What I will do later on is try and do a system restore using the restore points created and see if it is in an older state, whether the software will then respond or not.

Have you tried installing the Recovery Manager update softpaq? The link is below.

Any system restore point you install will definitely be older.
