I have been on the phone with my work IT dept to try and work on my work applications but I cannot open my work application on my computer. They told me to contact HP for help,

Then .. they are idiots!!

We can not possibly provide assistance with anything work related -- as we have no knowledge of that and no access to it.

I am not asking for help with my work system on my personal computer. I am asking how to change the security settings and if there are other things to look at in order to open up my work program on my personal computer!

NOW, you are contradicting yourself.

You said "can not open my WORK application" -- that is definitely work-related.

My daughter works from home on her work PC and her IT folks had to remote into her PC to install and configure the apps she needs in order to do that work, including joining their Domain.

I suspect this is the same kind of issue -- and once again, nothing we can fix.  You will need to get your IT folks to stop making excuses and fobbing you off onto HP as this is NOT an HP issue.
