Hi,
I have an HP 15-f010dx notebook with a failing hard drive. The PC boots, but none of the programs will launch, including the HP Recovery Manager. I’ll need to replace the drive and reinstall Windows, but I don’t have recovery media and I’m not able to create it because none of the programs will launch.
The product number is J9M23UA, serial number [Personal Information Removed].
I want to order recovery media, but I’m not able to find the option available on HP.com. Could someone direct me to where I can order the recovery software? Or an alternative way that I can reinstall Windows on the laptop once I replace the drive.
Thank you.

When HP has recovery media you can order for a model PC, there is a link on the HP product page to order it. There is no such link on the product page for your model PC.
If your PC is a 2016 model or newer, you should see if you can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool on a working PC.
The recovery drive can then be used to install Win10 and the HP drivers and utilities that originally came with your PC.

Hi, @Rthomas23
Your notebook originally came from HP with W8.1.
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04420390
The only recovery media that would be available would be for W8.1, which you can order at the link below.
Your notebook is not supported by the HP cloud recovery tool.
You have the option to reinstall W10 for free by making bootable installation media using the media creation tool at the link below.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
If your PC is not working, then use another Windows PC to create the installation media.
When you get to the part of the installation that asks for a product key, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.
After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.
