I recently purchased this HP laptop from a pawn shop for school. It was sold to me as a windows 10 device, and there were not stickers to prove otherwise. (that I noticed then) About 3 weeks after I purchased the device, a message continuously popped up saying that my operating system would be expiring soon. Hog wash I thought and blew it off. Then a few days later, I noticed a permanent message in the lower right hand corner of the screen that states "Activate Windows" So being that im no dummy, I went to settings to windows activation, entered the product key that I found on the computer info page, and pressed activate. Low and behold, a message saying that the product key entered isn't genuine. Reenter the product key or try a different one. So I tried it again a few more times, then started rummaging through the files and noticed windows 10 was an upgrade on a trial bases. But no where on the device is the information about the original operating system. I ended up turning it over for some reason and I noticed a sticker that says Windows 7 Home Premium and then the product key and all that jazz. So I tried to do a system recovery, taking it all the way back to factory version. even entered the windows 7 product key into the system, but got nothing besides a new windows 10 device that I still cant even customize due to not having an active operating system. I got nowhere with Microsoft because the windows 7 operating system was previously installed on the device by the manufacture, this being HP. So here I am with this lovely don't want to do a darn thing laptop, and classes everyday, which are online by the way, and the only support I can seem to find is a virtual assistant. So can someone help me figure out how to get a windows 7 home premium link or download that is from HP. Cant be from Microsoft. Or tell me how to get in touch with a real live person from HP, or how to fix this issue. And yes I do have a valid product key that goes to the device.

Hi:
You should be able to activate W10 by using the W7 product key from the sticker on the PC's case.
HP no longer sells W7 recovery media for the HP 2000 model series, but you should still be able to order from this vendor if you live in the USA or Canada.
You would need to enter the exact model number or product number of your HP 2000 notebook to get the right recovery kit, as they are model-specific.

The other option you have would be to make W7 Home Premium installation media.
Download the W7 64 bit ISO file from the link below.
Then use the Microsoft utility that I zipped up and attached below to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so that it is bootable.
After W7 installs you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.

Hi:
That has happened to me in the past which is why I use DVD's to install Windows.
See if this works...when W7 is finished installing and goes to restart, remove the USB flash drive installer before the notebook turns back on.

You have to install all of the hardware drivers for your notebook.
What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?
The product number can be found on the same label as the serial number.
Please do not post the serial number.
Once I have that info, I can get you connected to the internet and you can install the rest of the drivers you need (graphics, audio, sd card reader, etc,)

OK...
The product number you posted indicates that your notebook is a HP 2000-358NR NOTEBOOK PC.
Here are the links to the wifi and ethernet drivers you need for that model notebook...
Wifi:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71001-71500/sp71421.exe
Ethernet:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52500/sp52421.exe
Here is the link to the driver page where you can find the rest of the drivers and available software you need for your PC.
