I want to install Windows 7 on my Pavilion 570-p026, but I found out that it was a kaby lake system and doesn't have USB 3.0 drivers from HP. After looking on YouTube, I saw a video on how to make it work by using Intel eXtensible host controller that apparently doesn't use my chipset nor series. Is there any way for me to install Windows 7 or is it possible to use incompatible drivers?

eXtensible host controller: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/65855/Intel-USB-3-0-eXtensible-Host-Controller-Driver

Hi, @Syntaxium
If you like a challenge, you should be able to install W7 on your PC by following the guidance at the link below...This method should also work on PC's with the Kaby Lake chipsets too.

Unfortunately vendors won't write/develope more Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 drivers for Intel Gen 7 (and similar for AMD) and later processors. You have to use Windows 10.
Regards.

Sure.
You can give that a try.
The problem most folks face is that the USB 3 driver gets you past the first KB and mouse freeze but after W7 installs and restarts, the KB and mouse freeze again because the driver only works on the first part.
So, hopefully you won't have that issue.
If you do, then you will have to follow the guidance on that link I posted.
BTW...of the 2 USB 3 drivers listed on the link you posted, this is the direct link to the driver you need...

Hi:
Actually, those drivers are more than 2 years old.
Use the Intel USB3 driver I link I posted earlier, and use this Intel RST driver.
