Hello there,

I want to update my BIOS to the latest version. But I cannot see my USB Flash Drive in the System Diagnostics. It was made with HP's BIOS and Update utility.

What could the problem be? Thank you in advance!

@NikolayVK

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

BIOS Update: Follow the steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629

Install the BIOS file via USB flash drive into an available port on the second computer.

Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.

Navigate to the product page for your computer.

Select BIOS, and then review the details of the latest available version or the specific version recommended for the recovery. Confirm that it is the correct BIOS update before proceeding.

CAUTION:

Read the Details section to confirm that it applies to the computer. Installing the wrong BIOS could cause the computer to stop working.

Click Download > Run.

Click Yes on the User Account Control screen.

Clicking Yes to allow the update to install

On the InstallShield Wizard window, click Next.

InstallShield Wizard

Select I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.

Agreeing to End User License Agreement

In the HP BIOS Update and Recovery window, click Next.

Clicking Next in HP BIOS Update and Recovery

Select Create Recovery USB flash drive, and then click Next.

Create Recovery USB flash drive in HP System BIOS Update Utility

Select your USB flash drive, and then click Next.

Selecting the USB flash drive

Wait while the BIOS files copy to the drive.

Copying BIOS files to the USB flash drive

When The recovery flash drive was created successfully message is displayed, click Finish.

Clicking Finish

If necessary, click Cancel to close the update utility.

Clicking Cancel to close the update utility

Remove the USB flash drive from the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
