After various challenges trying to connect an external monitor to my laptop, the only thing I have found that actually works is buying a Belkin USB-C to HDMI adapter. This gives me display on my monitor where everything else I’ve tried fails (albeit my HDMI to USB-C cable worked absolutely fine until the warranty ended - strangely).

I do, however, even have an issue with this. I get an error saying USB device not recognised. The laptop bleeps every 10 seconds or so to tell me this. I’ve managed to switch off the constant pop up but not the sound, other than putting the volume down.

I have tried to install drivers and reconnecting the device many times but nothing seems to work and I’m at my wits end.
