Hi @Promise2k1
Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting.
It's great to meet another Linux fan here. Been running Linux on various computers, I have installed it on your PC model, as well. Have installed it on Probook 450 earlier generations.
Works well.
Your models comes in many different variants including different memory and storage (HDD or SSD).
Battery life in Ubuntu/Debian is generally better.
Here are few things which will greatly improve your expereince:
- if your PC came with an HDD, upgrade the storage to an SSD. Here is more info over the advantages >> https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001396.htm
- Try different *buntu variants - Xubuntu is Ubuntu with XFCE desktop environment and is generally lighter than GNOME on Ubuntu, or Ubuntu MATE (Gnome 2.0) . You may also consider Linux Mint .
- Easy Linux TIPS >> https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/

- I don't recommend you install 17.10. This version is non-LTS version and will have it's support ended sooner. Best would be to run LTS (long term support) version 16.04 >> https://www.howtogeek.com/162768/should-you-use-ubuntu-lts-or-upgrade-to-the-latest-release/
Hope this helps.Let me know if any questions.
