I have a HP Spectre x360. I was receiving the "Boot Device Not Found" screen and did the diagnostic tool. I eventually found that I need to create a bootable USB recovery drive to reinstall Windows 10, etc. I tried using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool however I keep getting an error saying "Product ID does not match or is invalid." I tried putting in my serial number as well and still get an "invalid" message. I went to "HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads" for other recovery options, but I don't see any downloads available that would seem useful for booting or recovery.
What's weird is when I initially ran the Cloud Recovery Tool, I put in the product ID and it seemed to work because I was brought to the next screen to insert a USB flash drive, however I didn't have the right flash drive at the time and had to restart the software.
Is this a lost cause? Do I just need to get a new laptop?
Thanks,
Angela

You can always make a bootable USB installation flash drive with the Microsoft Media creation tool from the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.
Regarding the cloud recovery tool...if you are entering the full product number including the #ABA, the tool is very unforgiving about what to do next after you enter the product number.
Do not click off the window. Just hit the enter key as soon as you enter the full product number, and then it should work.
