My HP Omen 17 was booting to a black screen, I am now attempting to create an HP Bios USB Bootable in hopes to fix the Omen issue.

 

I searched for the proper bios using my computer info and the HP search function here

I tried to create an HP BIOS USB disk on a different computer. When running the HP BIOS USB creation program, it did not have my specific OS version listed, which caused a problem.

 

A correct matching OS was not in the drop down list of selections ( have Windows 10 22H2) and this was preventing me from creating a USB BIOS disk. What solved the issue was choosing the generic "Windows 10" OS instead of versions of it i.e. Windows 10 20H2 etc

 

I then followed the steps under Recovering the BIOS using a USB recovery drive, here
