Hi @NiveaAJ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
The error you’re encountering, Error 1722, during the installation of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI suggests there’s a problem with the Windows Installer package or an issue with the system’s configuration that is preventing the installation from completing successfully. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:
Step 1: Run the Installer as Administrator
- Right-click on the installer file (.exe) and select "Run as administrator."
- This ensures that the installer has the necessary permissions to make changes to your system.
Step 2: Check for Corrupt Installer or File Download Issues
- Re-download the installer from the official HP support page.
- Make sure that the download completes without interruptions to avoid any file corruption.
Step 3: Disable Antivirus and Firewall Temporarily
- Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus software and the Windows Defender firewall.
- Antivirus or firewall settings can sometimes interfere with the installation process.
Step 4: Run Windows Troubleshooter for Program Install and Uninstall
- Download and run the Program Install and Uninstall troubleshooter from Microsoft.
- This tool can help fix problems that block program installation, such as issues with the Windows Installer package.
Step 5: Check Windows Installer Service
- Restart the Windows Installer Service:
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Scroll down and find Windows Installer.
- Right-click on it and select Restart.
- Ensure that the service is set to Manual startup type, which is the default setting.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
