Pavilion Laptop Product 8FH65EA#ABU
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I work within a school and a teacher has recently purchased a laptop that they wish to use in school. This laptop came with Windows 10 Home. As we have an automated build server, we simply wipe the machines and then load on Windows 10 Pro.

However this machine will not accept an image from any source, PXE, USB. One of the errors is as follows: -

We couldn't install Windows in the location you chose. Please check your media drive. Here's more info about what happened: 0x80300001.

Also: -

Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.

I have tried most options in the BIOS and have deleted all of the partitions. I am suspecting it is either protected or I require a driver to install to the disk.

Anyone seen this one?

Thanks

Hi

My first thought was (wrongly) that the Dirty Bit is set, but wiping HDD usually cures that.

I would double check the BIOS for boot loaders, I have several, and the wrong one wont boot any OS at all..

Boot Man x 5.jpg Some are Legacy, some are Secure BOOT.

BIOS Boot One.png  It can be picky.

Bundled software was...

Operating system
Windows 10 Home 64
HP apps
Alexa; HP 3D DriveGuard; HP Audio Switch; HP CoolSense; HP JumpStart; HP Support Assistant

So no I don't have a direct solution, but I would try a NON-MS solution and try to install LUBUNTU first.
