I have been unable to replace the ssd on my HP 14-DQ2078 Core™ i5-1135g7  , the old SSD crashed. I ve attempted to install a new 100 GB Kingston nvm ssd. I can boot from usb fine, the bios recognizes the SSD and the size is correct. I've tried removing a single ram, tried turning off secure boot. I've been able to load the Intel RST driver from a usb stick and my SSD does appear in the Windows install but the install fails every time at 35%. I've tried two fresh usb installs of win 11 with the same issue.  there is no BitLocker set and there is no admin password for the BIOS so that remote possibility is out.  

it had the standard win 11 home on it and the 256 SSD on it before it crashed, if that matters.. any help would be appreciated. I've never had to replace anything on it in the two years I've had it till now.

If you have this model...14-dq2078wm, it is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool.

 

Use the HP cloud recovery tool that will create a bootable USB recovery drive, that will install Windows the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

 

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

Since you have to use the software on another PC as yours is not working, you will need to enter your PC's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed.
