I am needing to install new software on my laptop however, I am unable to because my laptop was setup with Windows10 S. I followed the instructions to turn off the S mode by switching to Windows Home but I am not given the option to do this in the Microsoft Store. In researching this issue, I have found that others have the same problem. My laptop is less than a year old. Help!

I have tried this several times. When I get to the Microsoft store, I do not get the option to upgrade. All I get is an option to upgrade to Windows 10 Professional at a cost of $99.
i have researched this issue and it appears that others have had the same problem.

Hi, @Cheryljtrujillo
See if the troubleshooting steps at the link below are of help to you...
I think it is a problem you will have to get help with from Microsoft.

I went to the link that was supplied and tried all the suggestions except for the last (#4) which was editing the registry and the laptop wouldn't not respond to msconfig when trying to do commands.
Via the first suggestion, I went to the Store app troubleshooter and it said it couldn't identify the problem. So I clicked on report and a message said, " try that again" something happened on our end.
i then went to the MS Store application and searched for "switch out of S Mode" , and I got the same message as above.
I am using this laptop for college however, I cannot download my applications nor the browser needed that is compatible with the online lessons.
please help!

I am still having this issue. Is there anyone that can help with this issue? The laptop came preloaded with S Mode, which is not helpful since it is locked down and I am unable to use it effectively for the reason I purchased it.
