I've been receiving the following message whenever I attempt a BIOS update. I've run them manually from within Windows (multiple versions from HP's site), Windows Update, and over the network in the UEFI Network BIOS update option (both newest and rolling back, but I'm always getting the same message.  I've loaded the firmware to a brand new USB drive using the Create Recovery Media option in the BIOS update download, but I'm unable to launch a BIOS recovery from a boot (tried win + b and win + v), so that's not working either.

I've tried resetting and removing the BIOS password, but no change in how the laptop acts when attempting the BIOS update, it always stalls right as step 1/4 starts.

Any ideas on how I can successfully update the BIOS, short of paying and sending it back to HP?
