Apparently multiple people have used the latest module from Intel and still have the problem.

See https://mspoweruser.com/windows-10-may-2019-update-blocked-on-pcs-with-updated-intel-rst-driver/

This driver is for Rapid Storage and my SSD sure qualifies there.  When I power on, my laptop displays the password screen in about 10 seconds.

I have faith that sometime in the next few weeks that Microsoft, or HP, or Intel will decide to do something useful to help us.  Meanwhile, my computer runs and my websites grow.

i think then you can do only one thing by making a bootable usb flashdrive by microsoft media creation tool with windows 10 1903. You need to install the update like a new windows with the help of your bios.

making a usb with the latest update will not cost you anything, i have done it and it is easy and simple...

Hello.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000055130/technologies/intel-rapid-storage-...

Intel recommends to install 15.9.8.1050 generic Intel® driver

You may also try to update your BIOS to the latest version available.

How did you update your BIOS? It's supposed to show up in HP Support Assistant as a needed update - but nothing shows up there.

First of all UPDATING your bios can make your system corrupted, SO PLEASE I ADVICE YOU TO NOT UPDATE YOUR BIOS. It can prevent your pc from booting up or it can create some no sound issues. Although updating your bios can make some good changes also.

To update your bios go to https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers ,then identify your device and here you can get a bios update for your system in the form of a SP file.

AGAIN!!! updating BIOS can be harmfull to your system...😙

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that my Windows has finally been updated.
I followed the instructions (can't recall the member at this point sorry) by backing up the old files then installing the Intel update and then the Windows update.

It did hang several times at 91% and was requesting a .NET framework update, but eventually dug it's way out of the hole.

All working fine now and no errors.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank all those who have responded, and who have stepped out instructions.
Really helpful for people like myself who are new at this.

I will probably unfollow this thread now, but thanks again everyone.
