Windows had been playing up (audio not working) - fixes included trying to repair from recovery image. Downloaded a recovery USB.
Tried to repair the installation after booting into the image preserving the user data. This failed.
Then took the option to wipe/reinstall the PC from the USB drive - it gets about 38% through the process and then fails. Bricked.
Aargh.
What next? Please help.

Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer since the cloud recovery tool software failed to restore the OS, would be to clean install W10.
Make a bootable W10 USB installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from the PC's support page.
