I came back to my laptop after going away from it and my facial recognition did not work. I used my pin to get into the laptop to check my camera, and the camera app gave me an error message saying "We Can't Find Your Camera" with an error code of 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached>. I spent hours looking for ways to get my inbuilt cameras to work again and came across uninstalling them from Device Manager and being told they would automatically reinstall. They didn't so I watched even more videos and even contacted Microsoft Support to where they weren't able to do anything. I went into my BIOS feature and had no advanced tab to go through and check for my cameras. I'm still hoping to find a way to get my cameras back and working again.
Thank you

Hi @JMV1024,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding camera issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Camera Privacy Settings:
- Ensure that your camera is enabled in Windows privacy settings.
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera. Make sure that the camera access is turned on for the apps you want to use.
Verify Physical Camera Switch:
- Some HP laptops have a physical switch or button to enable/disable the camera. Check if your laptop has such a feature and make sure it is turned on.
Confirm Webcam is Not Disabled:
- Open Device Manager by searching it in the Start Menu.
- Look for Imaging devices. If you see your camera listed, right-click it and ensure that it is not disabled.
Update Camera Drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click on your camera under Imaging devices and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Uninstall and Reinstall Camera Driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click on your camera device and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the camera drivers.
Run Windows Update:
- Check for any Windows updates that might include camera driver fixes. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates.
Use HP Support Assistant:
- Open HP Support Assistant from the Start Menu or taskbar. Use it to check for updates and troubleshoot hardware issues.
Perform a Hardware Scan:
- If the camera does not appear in Device Manager at all, perform a hardware scan:
- In Device Manager, select Action > Scan for hardware changes to see if the system detects the camera.
I hope this helps.
