Hello,
I have an overheating problem with my graphics card, the temperature rises very quickly after run program that use dedicated graphics card.
My notebook was two times cleaned got new thermopads and thermalpaste, also tried change voltage by program MSI afterburner but it's not working, reduction a clocks frequency haven't do effects and i dont see any such options that can help me in nvidia control panel.
I ran hp diagnostics programs that not found that and any other problem.
I can't find the way to unlock advanced bios settings (version F.45) I don't have warranty and can't afford to replace my notebook.
Please give me an idea to solve that problem and thanks for possible answer.

Hi @Domis666,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Unlocking advanced BIOS settings on laptops, including HP Notebook 15, typically involves accessing hidden options that are not available in the standard BIOS menu. These settings can potentially allow you to tweak various hardware parameters and configurations, including CPU, RAM, and sometimes GPU settings. However, it's important to note that tampering with these settings can potentially lead to system instability or even hardware damage if not done properly.
Here's a general guideline on how you might attempt to unlock advanced BIOS settings on an HP Notebook 15.
- Access the BIOS/UEFI Menu: Restart your laptop and during the boot-up process, press the key indicated on the screen (often F2, F10, F12, or Delete) to access the BIOS/UEFI menu.
- Check for Hidden Menus: In some cases, the advanced settings might be hidden under a specific menu or require a certain key combination to access. This can vary based on the laptop model and BIOS version.
- Search Online: Sometimes, laptop enthusiasts and communities share methods to unlock advanced settings for specific laptop models. You might find guides, videos, or forum threads detailing the process for your HP Notebook 15 model.
- risky and is not recommended, as they might potentially cause issues.
- Contact HP Support: If you're trying to access advanced settings for a specific reason, such as resolving a GPU problem, it's better to contact HP support first. They can guide you through legitimate methods and provide advice on how to proceed without voiding your warranty or causing harm.
Regarding your GPU problem, if you're experiencing issues with your laptop's graphics card (GPU), such as display artifacts, performance problems, or driver issues, there are a few steps you can take.
- Update Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest GPU drivers installed. You can download these drivers from the official HP support website or the GPU manufacturer's website (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel).
- Check for Overheating: GPUs can experience problems if they're overheating. Make sure your laptop's cooling system is working properly and that the vents are not blocked by dust or debris.
- Run Diagnostics: Some laptops come with built-in diagnostic tools that can help identify hardware issues, including problems with the GPU. Check your laptop's documentation for details on how to access and run these diagnostics.
- Reset BIOS Settings: If your GPU issue is related to BIOS settings, you might consider resetting the BIOS to default settings. This can often resolve configuration-related problems.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
