Hello,
I recently purchased an HP Laptop 17-cp0700dx and installed additional RAM for a total of 16 GB. I would like to unlock the advanced settings in the AMI BIOS so I can allocate additional VRAM in proportion to the upgraded RAM I have installed as only 512 MB of VRAM is currently allocated and I would like to allocate either 1GB or 2GB of VRAM.
I have spoken with the HP Hardware Team, Smart Friend Team and also reached out to HP reps on both youtube and twitter and they are unsure if the advanced settings exist or not and have not escalated the inquiry which makes this concerning as the Smart Friend Team is a paid service and the level of knowledge they have demonstrated me appears to be limited in this field.
My main question is this: Does the advanced settings exist for the AMI BIOS in this laptop? If so, please provide specific instructions on how I may unlock it. If this cannot be done, can you provide an BIOS update that will unlock it?
I am an experienced user and have no issues with working in the BIOS and understand the risks involved. I have scoured the internet and have found no working information with the current Ryzen HP Laptops with the AMI BIOS on whether the advanced settings exist or not and I am hoping you can assist with shedding some light on this inquiry.
Thanks in advance
