HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 (2D118AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, I'm encountering multiple issues with my HP laptop (model HP 15-dy2791wm) and would appreciate some guidance on troubleshooting steps.

Firstly, I'm unable to boot into Windows as I'm consistently encountering a blue screen of death with the error message "Unmountable boot volume." Following this, the laptop reboots and displays another error code "0xc0000001."

I've attempted to reinstall Windows, but during the installation process, the hard drive is not detected. When I run the "list volume" command in Command Prompt, it only shows volumes from the USB flash drive I'm using to boot.

Here are the steps I've taken so far:

- Checked BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure the hard drive is recognized.
- Confirmed that the hard drive is securely connected to the motherboard.
- Verified that the hard drive is functioning properly and the connection is secure.
- I've tried running the sfc /scannow command also and command prompt gave this response
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline repairs, details are included in the log file p

ro

vided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

The system file repair change

s will take effect after the next reboot.

- I've also the bootrec commands but all no avail
bootrec /fixmbr

bootrec /fixboot

bootrec /scanos

bootrec /rebuildbcd
- when I ran the bootrec /scanos command, command prompt reports that 'Total identified Windows Installation: 0'

Despite these efforts, I'm still

unable to resolve the issue. Could someone please provide additional troubleshooting steps or suggestions to help me identify and fix the problem?

Thank you for your assistance.

@Joxyz,

Your laptop model requires the Windows installation setup to have Intel RST storage controller driver to detect the storage drive to install Windows on. You need to download IRST driver softpaq from your model's drivers download site, extract files and attach them to a Windows installation usb drive. You can download the latest version of IRST driver (sp146929) from the link below.

You can then follow the steps below to complete the Windows installation:

1. Connect your Windows installation usb drive to the laptop.

2. Right-click on the downloaded sp file and click on "Run as Administrator."

3. When you are asked where to save files, with the default directory path being displayed, click on Next.

4. Go to C:\SWSetup\ and copy the extracted "SP146929" folder to the root directory of the Windows installation usb drive.

5. Run the Windows installation again and when you are asked where to install Windows, click on Load Driver.

6. Click on Browse then click the usb drive.

7. Click on the sp146929 folder then the F6 folder and click OK.

8. Two drivers will be displayed. Select either one and click OK.

9. Now the drive will be displayed. Delete all partitions to see "Drive 1 Unallocated space" then click Next to proceed the installation.

If you rather want to run command prompt to fix the Windows errors, take the following steps:

1, When you see the storage drive (step 9 above), press Shift and f10 keys simultaneously to run CMD.

2. At the x:\sourse prompt type diskpart and click Enter key.

3. Type list disk and click Enter.

4. Now you should see disk 1 (boot disk) and you can perform CMD operations.
