When turning on the labtop, it gives a CMOS checksum error, then restarts into a bluescreen for unmountable boot volume. When loading esc f2, the labtop believes the date to be in 2021 (currently 2024). Normally I’d start by replacing the CMOS battery, but I can’t find the normal watch battery. A friend told me some newer laptops have a cmos battery that is soldered to the motherboard, but I can’t find any documentation that would help me find it. Running system diagnostics also gives a hard drive dst failure, with failure code RPPW0C-A6J9G1-XD7U3G-61TS03. That same friend told me that if there was a problem with the cmos battery, the computer wouldn’t recognize the hard drive, which is why it gives that failure. I’m not sure how to test the hard drive outside of the machine to see if it is broken or not. I’d also tell you that I don’t really know what I’m doing, and am just trying for the challenge. Any advice is welcome.
