Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have now seen a message in my updates saying that Windows 10 can download and upgrade to version 2004. Has anyone else done this on this model of laptop? I can't see this model on HPs list of tested models and am hesitating before trying it myself!

Any advice / reports of success / failure would be appreciated 🙂

Thank you for your time.

I have already visited the page you linked to, but thank you for your advice. I am hoping to hear from HP users who have undertaken this update - Microsoft might be confident that I can upgrade successfully, but they don't have a great track record!

Thanks for your time.

Model Omen 17-cbOxxx here. Like yours, my model wasn't listed either on the hp models tested page, but the 2004 build was made available. I decided to give it a try. Right after installation, it seemed to be working flawlesly. Second time I tried to play a game, I got this buzzing sound and FPS dropped dramatically. Incompatibility with video card is my best guess. Rolled back to previous Windows build, works as before. Just my experience, hope this helps.

I did my HP Envy 17-n152sa after being offered it via Windows Update last week, worked OK but boot and shutdown and HP3D Driveguard issues,

The notebook is now back on Windows 10 v1909 and working exactly as it should, boot up and shut down are back to normal and the HP 3D Driveguard is now working again... so a 3 year old HP Envy is not 100% compatible with Windows 10 2004 ... Just leave alone until I have to update..

Shame really as it did work OK on the whole but 3-4 mins to boot and shutdown was a pain

I must say having never needed to restore from a Macrium Reflect image, but it was a simple job, much quicker than trying to roll back Windows (and failing if my last experience is anything to go by) and took 25 mins from start to finish..

All works as it should, just needed to copy a couple of documents and forward all emails from the 14th to now to my email address.. all done!

Thanks for sharing your experience. This highlights why I was hesitant - Microsoft making the update available doesn't mean all will go smoothly! I eventually decided to go ahead and give it a go - apart from turning my sound volume way up it all seems to have gone according to plan (so far); although I haven't tried everything yet the basics all seem stable enough.

I will just leave it now until I am forced to update, shame really as it did work OK once it started up, just took way too long.. and the same to shutdown..
