Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Core i5 10th Generation 64bit notebook

There was a request from the computer for permission to update.

The computer is plugged in but was not online at the time. It seemed the software was already loaded so regretfully I allowed the update and the screen is frozen stating:

Updating camera controller firmware from version 017 to version 017.

Is it safe to reboot as it has supposedly completed the update?

How do I get going again safely?

Thankyou in anticipation for advice.

Dear friend,

Thank you for your offer to help. I was very grateful to read of it.

I apologise for the late reply.

About 3/4 hour after posting I contacted my son-in-law and he suggested that as it was the same version of firmware v017 to v017 and it said it was 100% completed and nothing more was happening to try a hard turnoff and rebooting it.

That worked, it started, updated its bios and then went on to start normally.

Thankyou again for offering to help.
